My Personal Story:

When I received my first Mammogram, I was by myself and honestly afraid. I wanted my husband with me however no men are allowed in the back. As a child, I would find comfort in two things

 1. Singing and 2. Praying. So when they called me to come back for a second opinion, I took my praying teddy bear with me and I held  on to that bear with every step I took and with every breathe I breathed and it gave me so much comfort. I gave it to one of the ladies that was crying in the back before I left. She smile and stated “ she was all alone and this is exactly what she needed”.

●It will give women the ability to relax and manage stress while going through treatment.

●It is a resource to further educate women regarding breast cancer.

●It will serve as a reminder to women that their self-care is important not only for them but also for their family.

●The Boobie Box is a support program created by It’s in the Genes II Inc for women that are currently in treatment for breast cancer.

 

●The program contains a box and/or bag filled with gifts to comfort, soothe, empower, educate and help patients manage stress while they are in treatment waiting rooms.
